The Cabbie and the ECK Master

A New York Woman Gives and Receives a Spiritual Gift

I had come with my daughter into Manhattan to dine with my son, in town on business from Houston, Texas. We had just finished dinner. "Mom," they asked, as I stood to leave, "how are you getting home?"

"The subway," I answered.

"No, it's too late. We'll get you a cab," they insisted. When they even offered me cab fare, I accepted.

I gave the driver directions as he pulled into the slow-moving traffic. Suddenly a huge billboard loomed ahead, flashing the message Put God First.

"Look at that," said the cabbie. "That's how it should always be."

"Have you ever had what you would call a spiritual experience?" I asked.

There was a long pause. Then, "I keep seeing this guy in my dreams."

I scooted to the edge of my seat. "Can you describe him?" I listened carefully to his description. I knew I could help him.

When we got to my home, I said, "Wait a minute. I want to show you something." I ran into the house and came out with my ten pictures of the ECK Masters.

The driver turned his interior light on and examined them one by one. Then he looked at me as if I'd pulled a rabbit out of a hat. "There! That's him. That's the man I see in my dreams!" He was pointing at Gopal Das.

I offered him Eckankar's toll-free telephone number. He shook my hand.

"I will call," he said. "Thank you very much."

I had asked to be a Co-worker with Divine Spirit many times, but I was amazed at the shower of divine love I was blessed with that night. It was a spiritual gift for both the cabbie and me.
