Making Your Plans

You are starting as a limited human being set down in a world of plenty.

There is no limitation except for the limitations you have made for yourself. These limitations are very real.

One way to begin coming into a greater vision of life is to sing HU when you need help. You say, “I’ve made my plan. I’m now asking for God’s help.” Then as you work toward your plan, remember to sing HU.

Self-Protection

By Sri Harold Klemp

To protect yourself you must remember two principles: (1) never believe that you will be harmed by anything or anybody, because you are ageless, eternal Soul; and (2) practice fearlessness by never being afraid of anything or letting the imagination run wild by imagining something happening to your body to harm it.

Three techniques for self-protection are: (1) place a reversed mirror in front of you, which the adversary’s psychic self can see but cannot withstand; (2) place a white light around yourself; and (3) start talking in a normal voice, telling your adversary that he isn’t acting according to the laws of human decency.

A Way to Build Self-Confidence

If you should have your real strength of character marred by lack of self-confidence, use this technique to build yourself up again.

First find the spots in your aura or personal atmosphere that are self-conscious, shy, timid, or overly sensitive.  These tend to attract people who impose upon your weakness.  With a mental command, ask those people to move out of your way.  Mentally demand respectful attention.

Next build up the opposite qualities of mind and character to replace these self-conscious qualities. Fill yourself with positive courage so that the positive force you generate can actually be felt when you pass through a room.

Adopt the mental attitude and personal atmosphere of a person with great confidence. Always be direct and positive in your approach to all things. Put all your spiritual force behind your smile, your replies, and your thoughts.

For Peace and Joy

By Sri Harold Klemp

Here’s a spiritual exercise to try if you want to experience the Light or Sound of God:

Shut your eyes and look into the Spiritual Eye. (It’s between your eyebrows, in the center of your forehead.) Sing HU, an ancient name for God, one of the most powerful words for spiritual upliftment.

As you sing HU, listen for a holy Sound. It may come in any number of ways: like the sound of a rumbling train, a singing bird, buzzing bees, a mellow flute, or even soothing guitars.

It brings joy and wonder.

The holy sounds are the creative action of the Life Force, the ECK, as It moves atoms in the invisible worlds. The Sound to reach your ears resonates with your state of consciousness.

While singing HU, imagine the holy Sound of God cascading over you, like a waterfall of sparkling pure waters. It is cleansing the blemishes of spirit.

The Sound opens a secret path to the joys of love and grace. You find peace, joy, and spiritual freedom.

A Dream Exercise

Dreams are an easy and natural way to pursue spiritual unfoldment.  Here is an exercise you can try before you go to sleep.  It can help you see your problems from a higher viewpoint to aid you in your life.

Make a request.  Before you go to sleep, write down a question about a problem that bothers you.  Ask the Dream Master or your own spiritual teacher for guidance on this question.  Lie down, and close your eyes.

Sing HU Softly sing HU (pronounced like the word hue) for about five minutes.  HU is an ancient name for God.  It has the unique ability to lift you into a higher state of awareness.  Singing HU connects you with Divine Spirit, or ECK, which can be seen as an inner Light or heard as Sound.

Write down your experiences.  When you wake up in the morning, write down any dreams, thoughts, or feelings, even if you don’t think they are significant.  As you go through your day, write down any new thoughts or experiences that relate to your problem.  Do this for three to five days.  Then look over your notes.  You may discover that images you first thought were unrelated now make sense and give you clues to the overall pattern of your life.

How to Approach the Spiritual Exercises

The Spiritual Exercises of ECK give you confidence in yourself. You learn that you are Soul, you are eternal. Then you know with certainty that you live forever, that death cannot destroy you.

The spiritual exercises work similarly to physical exercises. If you want your body to be strong and healthy, you’ve got to swim or run or do something to keep fit. For the Soul body, you do the Spiritual Exercises of ECK, a form of inner communication also called contemplation.

These spiritual exercises link you with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, which is seen as Light and heard as Sound. The inner Sound is the Voice of God calling us home. The inner Light is a beacon to light our way. All the Spiritual Exercises of ECK are built on these two divine aspects of the Holy Spirit.

Experiment with them, and try new things. You’re in your own God Worlds. I’ve gone to different extremes with the spiritual exercises, trying very complicated ones I developed for myself, dropping them when they didn’t work anymore.

It’s like a vein of gold running through a mountain. You’re on it for a while, then the vein runs out and you have to scout around and find another one. Use your creative abilities to go a step further.

Are you learning something new every day from what you’re doing? Are you getting insight and help from within? This is what you ought to be working for.

Do one exercise every day. Spend about twenty minutes on it. This builds your spiritual stamina gently over time. Regular daily practice is the key to success.
